Fraudulent website : Astonkit.com

SUSPECTED SCAM!

Date07/04/2020
Url / WebsiteAstonkit.com
Scam contentsThis website appears legitimate on first glance. They claim to sell a large number of items by connecting buyers with sellers. They prefer PayPal as a payment source, which helps create an illusion of legitimacy. I ordered an item through Astonkit which was sold out on other websites I checked first. The payment was promptly paid through PayPal, and I received an email from PayPal listing a seller I had never heard of, and a UPS tracking number for an unspecified item delivered to an unspecified address 5 days BEFORE I placed my order. Neither Astonkit or the seller have responded to my emails.
Your comments / analysisTHIS COMPANY APPEARS TO BE A COMPLETE SCAM. The address and phone number on Astonkit's website is for a BevMo in Antioch, CA. Their "link" to Facebook does not connect to anything. The only information I could find online about this company (there than their website) was Scamdoc, where I found 3 very recent reviews detailing experiences very similar to mine. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING THROUGH THEM! I have filed a claim with PayPal, but it will probably take them awhile to catch up to this. Because the "items" are sent via UPS, a complaint cannot be made through the US Postal Service for mail fraud. Very clever.

Please report to PayPal. Its hard to get through but keep at it and get a transaction # from them and ask to file a dispute. In my case they holding the funds and giving AstonKit 10 days to respond, then hopefully Ill get my money back. The more that report it they will have to acknowledge its a fraud site.

I have, thank you! I was able to file a complaint with PayPal fairly easily online, and got a prompt email reply from them. I will follow up. I agree with you - people need to report it to PayPal so that they are aware that this company appears to be completely fraudulent.

Same experience as CV reported. Web name looks to have been registered 6/18/2020. Avoid! Reported to PayPal.

I reported same to PayPal and they claim that my payment was NOT unauthorized and encouraged me to reach out to the seller, which I had already done. The deliver date was 3 days before my order! I even included this website for reference and two of the commetns above. Now with Covid there is no way to speak with anyone or add information to my complaint. It is marked as CLOSED. Any ideas?

Total fraud. I saw these comments after I had already placed my order. Contacted my credit card company immediately to cancel payment and file fraud charge. I to received a bogus shipping/tracking email that stated a shipping date almost 2 weeks before I even placed the order and was delivered, again before I even placed the order. DO NOT ORDER from here. Website disappeared. This a**hole needs to be busted. My credit card company said they would pursue the fraudster. Was Tu Van Nguyen listed as payment recipient ?

I also was scammed and PayPal also closed the case without any pursuit. What can one do to get any type of action taken both on PayPal's part and the scammer. I had a similar situation as GaryD.

My payment had a different name but the translation for the name was “hard striker”. The website is now down. Keep after paypal. They are the merchant and withhold payment from sellers for 2 weeks, so they have your money. It took me multiple “chats” since you cant speak to a human. But I filed a dispute and will get my $248 back in 10 days if seller does not respond. AmEx was worthless. They pay and fight later.

TOTAL FRAUD WEBSITE. Another one scammed here. Paid for 2 chairs on astonkit.com $238 through Paypal with payment by credit card. I now go to Paypal and they show no transactions. My credit card was charged. I will have to dispute the charges with my credit card co.

Scammed!! Ordered item and received email with tracking number that was a number of a item I received 2 months prior. Now how did they get that number that was actually from a previous sale on another item which I did receive??? PapyPal said it was ot a unauthorized sale and to contact the seller. SURE that is not happening. She is in the wind. Lesson Learned. Can't believe that PayPal didn't catch this fraud and that they are not standing up for those of us that have used Pay Pal many years.

yep, another scam. I had the same experience. I received a tracking number which stated the product was delivered a week before I ordered it. I've file a dispute with Paypal and got the "the seller has 10 days to respond" spin. We'll see.....

This is ABSOLUTELY a SCAM! I had same experience as others...even up to a fake tracking number through UPS that states package was delivered to my door 2 hours before I purchased anything! But that was not provided until 4 weeks went by!. Report to PayPal and to your linked account.
